610th Engineer Company arrives at Cam Ranh Bay.
(610EC-I0): The 610th Engineer Company (Construction support) arrived at Cam Ranh Bay on the 31st of August, 1967. It was cloudy and raining as the Engineers disembarked from the troop ship and moved to their new company area in the 87th Engineer Battalion Cantonment Area.

Coming from Fort Irwin, California which is locat3d in the Mojave Desert approximately 20 miles from Death Valley, the sands of Cam Ranh should pose no problem for these "Desert Rats".

The newly arrived engineers will provide construction support for the 35th Engineer Group.
